lads were still asleep at half time and the result was almost complete. Taking the opportunity to try out some
new ideas, the 2nd half saw a massive improvement and we gave Rugby a game. Unfortunately it was too late for us
and we were knocked out the cup.
M.O.M Will Hawker, full of energy & strength as always, but a lot more quality in 2nd half
16th Oct V Leam Brakes - A tight game with neither team really creating many chances, mainly due to how well
we were defending - the back 4 looked solid and won every tackle. A lucky break saw Leam take the lead, as
always our heads stayed up and we went for an equaliser switching to 3-5-2. Shortly after the lads got the equaliser
they deserved, and then remained tight to the end to finish up 1-1.
M.O.M Luke for putting his hard work in training into the game, and his best game so far
2nd Oct V CTK Juniors - This game was everything junior football should be all about, a fantastic game of football
played in great spirit by both teams, with massive support on the sideline. Locked at 2-2 after a great finish by
Matthew from outside the box and Alex showing determination gets its rewards, we pushed for victory and took a
few risks. It paid off when Thomas scored 2 goals that showed the natural quality and eye for goal he has. If it wasn't
for the cross bar late in the game he would of had his 3rd hat-trick in 3 games!
M.O.M Thomas, 2 great goals and doing more of the hard graft for the rest of the team
25th Sept Rugby Town - Against a strong and well organised Rugby side, this was a real test for the team. A high
paced and very competitive game all over the pitch. A dodgy ref's decision gave Rugby a penalty - only for Declan
to pull off a stunning save and keep us in the lead. Another hat-trick from Thomas and a great 'Team' performance
saw us 3-1 winners
M.O.M Adieb - rock solid at the back and looked like he'd played there for years
18th Sept V Longford - On a small pitch this was always going to be a tight game to make any breakthrough.
The lads played some nice football and went in 1-0 up at half time after a good finish from Reece. Quality shone
through in the 2nd half as Ryan got on the score sheet and Thomas banged in a hat-trick. Also solid defence in
keeping a clean sheet.
M.O.M Reece for a great goal and an energetic performance
15th Sept V Kenilworth - 1st game of the season and the big step up to 11 a side and the dreaded off side rule.
Against a strong opposition there were fierce battles all over the pitch. The lads went 1-0 down but heads never
dropped, battling to the end but unable to get a deserved equaliser.
M.O.M George for a great defensive display and showing how far he has come as a player
