20.03.2011 Mount Nod vsCoventry Jag (Home)
A must win game for both teams if either were going to win the league! We knew this was going to be a
tough game and it started off bad when we went a goal behind after only 6 minutes. The Jag players were
putting in some nasty tackles and a lot of injuries had to be addressed during the first half. Josh was putting
in a brave performance in goal again! Mount Nod came close with an effort on 26min, but then Jag scored
again to make it 2:0. They seemed too strong for us and we couldn’t close the gap before the half-time
whistle sounded.
Half time score 0 : 2
We started better in the second half and a long range shot from Liam found the bottom corner to make it
1:2.The tackles were still going in hard and the old partnership of Owen/Liam was working until Liam had to
be carried off injured. Michael came on upfront to replace him and played well. Liam recovered and came
on to replace Jack. It was a timely substitution as Joel was brought down in the box and awarded a penalty.
Liam stepped up and the keeper had no chance (2:2) It was a very nervous last couple of minutes as Jag
were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Luckily it came to nothing and the game finished all square
and a vital point was earned for the Mount Nod Boys!
It turned out that this result had earned Mount Nod promotion to Division C next season!!! Well Done lads

Liam after 17min.The home team then manage to pull a goal back to make it 1:2 to Mount Nod. Max
nearly scores again and almost converts a cross from Liam a minute later. Hawkesmill then equalise
after 27min which should have been the half time score.More time is played and this allows the home
team to score again and go in with a half time lead!
Half time score 3 : 2
Almost immediately after the restart Hawkesmill score again to make if 4:2. Mount Nod were never
disheartened , but held their heads high and battled on. Jamie’s tackling was brilliant and Max should
have pulled a goal back but it wasn’t to be.Joel pounced on an opportunity infront of goal and headed
the ball home to make it 4:3. Mount Nod piled the pressure on, and a great shot from Liam beat their
keeper to equal the scoring.(4:4)We had more chances to win the game but Hawkesmill scored in the

Mount Nod vs Hawkesmill (Home) 06.03.2011
Mount Nod won the toss and kicked off in the sunshine. They started well with Liam hitting the post after just
5 minutes. Shortly after he converted a chance to give Mount Nod the lead. Max looked like scoring with a
great run through the Hawkesmill defence, but he was stopped just before he could get a shot in. Hawkesmill
soon hit back with a goal of their own and that’s how it remained for the duration of the first half.
Half time score 1 : 1
The second half was like a different game and 5min in, Mount Nod were awarded a free kick just inside the
Hawkesmill half. Liam took it well and scored to make it 2:1 to Mount Nod. Some great tackling by Jamie and
Jack produced some more goal chances but they went just wide.Tom T was playing well in midfield supplying
Owen and Liam up front. The constant pressure resulted in yet another goal for Owen. (3:1) Liam was fouled
in the box and awarded a penalty, which he confidently slotted into the bottom corner for a 4:1 lead.
Hawkesmill hit back on the counter-attack closing the gap to only 2 goals. Again the effort from the Mount Nod
boys paid off as the final whistle drew near. Owen made it 5 : 2 and Liam finished Hawkesmill off with the 6th goal.

from close range and Owen made it 3 before the half time whistle.
Half time score 0 : 3
The win was never in doubt and Mount Nod’s domination continued into the second half. Joel scored again
to complete his hat-trick and Liam added one to make it 5. A lapse in concentration allowed Alvis to pull one
back but this was another good alround team performance keeping Mount Nod at the top of the league!

Coventrians vs Mount Nod (Away)13.02.2011
The first half was a very close battle on a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning. Mount Nod were fielding a
weakened side with Max and Jamie missing due to illness. Coventrians got the better of us scoring the only
goal of the half. Josh in goal also sufferd an injury.
Half time score 1 : 0
A brilliant second half performance by every Mount Nod player meant that Coventrians were unable to
increase their lead. There were hard fought battles all over the pitch and it was going to be hard to choose
a man of the match today. It was only a matter of time before Mount Nod were going to equalise. A through
ball from Dylan sent Liam on his way. Still recovering from a nasty tackle only seconds earlier, he took his
chance well and slotted it past the Coventrians keeper. Mount Nod had a chance to steal all 3pts with only
minutes left on the clock. Liam’s shot went just wide and Owen recovered the ball only to hit the post as he
shot on the turn!
A very good result and a well earned point.

Leamington won the toss and kicked off the match. It was end to end for the first 10min and then Mount Nod

the ball ended up in the back of the net. New signing Joel converting the chance. He then scored two more

Mount Nod vs Leam Hibs Colts (Home)16.01.2011
We started the match with a few players missing due to injury and illness and found it difficult to penetrate the
Leamington defence. Leamington took the lead half way through the first half and then found the net again
shortly after. Mount Nod defended well after that to stay only 2 behind until the half time whistle blew.
Half time score 0 - 2
Liam started the second half replacing Jack up front. He soon made a difference and good teamwork started
to pay off. We were now having plenty of the ball and creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities. Liam
managed to pull a goal back, then Owen made it all square. A great shot from Liam put Mount Nod ahead for
the first time in the game and the whole team were battling well.
It was end to end stuff with Leamington scoring next. Mount Nod scored again to retain the lead and with
5 min to go Mount Nod’s lack of concentration in defence allowed Leamington to equalise again.
Once again, it was agreat game of football to watch and the whole team should be very proud of themselves.

Mount Nod vs Chap Colts (home)
Well we had to lose a league game at some point I guess!
We returned to a frozen home pitch after 4 or 5 postponed games over the Christmas period. We decided
to put this one off until later in the day until it had defrosted enough to play!Luckily, with 3 players out due
to sickness we still managed to field enough players to make a game of it.Mount Nod kicked off and it
wasn’t long before a much improved Chaps team were in the lead. Owen had picked up an injury during
the pre-match warm up and before long he had to be replaced. A second bad tackle on Liam however
meant that he had to retire also. With our main strike force now out of action we knew we were up against it.
Most of the action was now in our own half and we did really well to defend with Jamie and David putting in
some vital and timely tackles. Josh in goal was also making some good saves.Chaps were then awarded a
penalty and it was sent straight into the roof of the net for a 0:2 lead
Half time score 0 - 2
Second half resumed and the Mount Nod boys ran their legs off. Max playing out of position out on the wing
managed to put a ball across for Michael to score into the bottom LH corner. (1 - 2) Chaps then scored again,
but it was too much too late for Mount Nod to pull back.
Final Score: Mount Nod 1 - 3 Chapelfields Colts

lobbing the ball over Josh in the Mount Nod goal from the half way line. Owen had another couple of chances
late on to make the game safe but his chances went wide. Mount Nod did well to hold on to their lead and were
glad to hear the full time whistle.

Leamington’s pressure was rewarded shortly after with a well taken goal. Mount Nod came back stronger and
Owen opened the scoring for Mount Nod after 20 minutes with a good shot directly in front of goal. Two minutes
