Saturday 07th May 2011 - CUP FINAL Mount Nod 2 - 1 Stratford
The incredible achievement of the treble has been acheived with our victory in todays league cup final against Stratford.
Oh what a week...To be crowned league champions and win the league cup within the space of four days is just
unbelieveable I have to pinch myself to make sure it's not a dream. The whole squad have had an amazing year again,
When we did the treble last year we said it could never be repeated as we knew how hard it was to do in the first place.
Yet here I am 12 months down the line talking about another treble winning season having won the Nursing Cup and the
A league in the last few weeks. As a squad we have two league games remaining before we have a short break and make
in roads on our plans for next seasons Midland Junior Premier League. My message to the boys is enjoy the good times
as it will not last forever but whilst it does party hard!!!!! What a bunch of boys 60 games since you were last beaten...

CHAMPIANOS CHAMPIANOS OLE OLE OLE

Wednesday 04th May 2011 - Mount Nod 6 - 2 Coundon
Our final home game of the season against Coundon Court the third time in four weeks these two teams have met, Only
needing a point to secure the league title was all that was needed to be said in the pre match team talk. A full match report
will follow but the long and short of it is that the red and whites were on fire tonight in the first half and went into half time
with a lead of 4 -0. To their credit Coundon did come back and give it a go as you would expect from a team of their quality,
Both teams added two goals a piece in the second half to make the final score  6- 2,  and confirm the Mount Nod boys as
"A"League Champions for the second successive year. I always said winning the title as under 10,s in the boys final season
of mini soccer was way above my expectations and I stated then and will say it again that winning any title is a major
achievement but to then and go and defend that title is much harder as we have become the team everyone wants to beat
and quite rightly so they all raise their game against the Champs. As a squad we now look forward to Saturday and the
League Cup Final where we try and repeat last year’s cup final success at the Bedworth Oval this time against Stratford
Town who will be well up for it, the dream of the treble is in our own hands, We have the Nursing Cup and the League
Championship and we will have to be at our best in the final. Well done to all the players for your success this year ...
ENJOY it whilst it lasts

Wednesday 06th April 2011
Well for the second time in four days we travelled to Coundon to play what promised to be another tight game of football.
The sun was shining and the side-lines were packed with lots of supporters who came to see two quality teams in action.
The red and whites arrived well up for it and in a confident but not cocky mood after their 4-3 victory a few days earlier.
The Mount Nod team grabbed an early lead and were the stronger of the two teams, the red and whites pushed forward
and started to take control, this paid dividend when a second goal was added but right on the stroke of half time Coundon
struck back in what was there first and to be only shot of the game that was on target, This was not down to Coundon
playing poor it was all down to the red and whites battling hard and putting in a good days shift and just restricting the
home team from having any shots at goal. Some parents were saying this game was a league decider but personally we
treat each game as a league decider so there was no different approach to the second half as we went out and saw the
game out with a further two goals, to make the final score 4-1 There are some tough games over the next few weeks and it
is important that we stay focused on the job in hand and not even start thinking or talking of any cup finals or trebles
(like I have heard a couple of our boys talking about) before we finish our league season. I believe to win the league last
year was a great achievement and I said then and will repeat now that to go out and try defending any title is harder than
winning it in the first place,We are now in charge of our own destiny and I now believe it is going to be an epic battle
between now and the final whistle of our league season which consists of 5 more games as everyone wants us to slip up
and will try there hardest to make it happen. This time last year we were very popular and part of the group of hunters....
Now it seems we are not so popular and have becomethe team that is now the hunted all in 12 months

Football is a funny old game...........We are Mount Nod JFC not Millwall

 JUST FOR THE RECORD
I,m not one for stats but the magical run we are on has just notched up another first,Our unbeaten record now stands at 56 games
but tonights victory was our 50th win whilst on this mind boggling run this along with 6 draws, This is truly unbelieveable. Yes one
day it will come to an end, and when it does we will shed NO tears, We will look back on a record with pride as I believe it will never
get beaten, as I personally know how hard it has been to be set!!!! All done in the Coventry A league, the best for miles around.
To date it has taken  you one year and 355 days to get there spread over three age groups u9, u10, u11. TOTALY AMAZING

Sunday 03rd April 2011
Well done to the boys for their league cup semi final  4-3 victory against Coundon.  I was unable to make the game, So I
was given regular updates by telephone via my personal touchline reporter ..Thanks Vodafone!!!! The game as always
between these two teams was a very tense battle, and no doubt it was festivall of football and another test of the nerves
for any watching supporters, who by the end of it probably needed a couple of tablets to get over it!!  A full match report
will follow but not before the two giants meet again on Wednesday in the league, Twice in four days. More tablets please!!

This 4-3 semi final result means the boys head off to the Oval for a second year running and also for the second time this
season having already collected the first silverware of the domestic season with there Nursing Cup success a few weeks
ago.

This squad are a great bunch of boys, and have to always remember that everyone raises there game and effort to try
and beat the current inform team. It is as if we have almost become unliked or I hate to say resented over the last few months,
All this for being succesfull at the young age of 10 and 11. A very strange situation for me to observe and listen to, but maybe
a sign of the times and I know were not the only team over the years to feel this way......
Before last years semis my phone was buzzing like mad with good luck text messages for our game also aginst Coundon as
they were the team to beat.... This year I never had one text message!!!! No doubt this years good luck messages went to the
Coundon manager who I suppose can relate to what I,m talking about....
An old and wise manager (wink wink) once said to me "Do you want to be popular and lose or disliked and be winners"

Football can be a funny old game
You win some.... You lose some..... But people remember Its only a game.....

We are doing well and YES the gap is closing from all angles, So can we sit back and take anything for granted?.......NEVER
Can we afford to take any team or game as a stroll in the park........ NEVER

At the moment things are going our way so my advice is enjoy it whilst it lasts, As one thing for sure that I can guarantee 100%
is that nothing lasts forever and I mean nothing especially in football.....Ask Ady Boothroyd

 Well Done
Well a massive well done to every  player past and present that has played there part in reaching the milestone of 50
games unbeaten. The only down side to it was that I was not there to see it when you reached the magic 50, but the
plus side to that is I was away in Thailand!!!! When records like this get set other teams from all around  raise there game
to try and beat the inform team and at present that is us.... So many tough battles lay ahead,However not everything lasts
forever and this magic run being one of them but  we will enjoy it whilst the going is good.
Will this magic run last for ever NO...   Will we  lose a game?  YES of course we will
Like I have always said losing is not and never has been a problem as long as each player has given it there best with
110% effort and most importantly enjoyed there football...
Well done boys and girl (Lucy are you reading this? CCLFC player of the season!!)

14th Feb - BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS
With the February 28th transfer deadline approaching are we going to make any last minute deadline day signings like
the big boys do, Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea? ........ERRRR NO.
So the misinformation and deliberate misleading info given to the league turns out to be malicious and clearly wrong.
A simple phone call will always solve any issues no matter how big or small...Oh yeah just like it did with the the league,
They ask a very simple question, Are you signing this player?  A very quick and firm but simplistic answer NO.
End of story, Or is it? In fact who cares? Another club upset by the same source as other clubs have been in the past.
The list seems to get  longer and longer and I for one can now see why.Oh well I,ve heard of egg on your face but in
this case it is seems more like an omelette and a fairly BIG one at that. Mount Nod doing well seems we become the
targets in more ways than one...
It,s in our DNA, Human beings like success but envy others for being successfull. Failure is success if you learn from it.
I will sum up with two words...Dummy, Pram

13th February 2011
Well what a weekend, Firstly on Saturday (12/02/11) we were part of a project being run by Sky Sports News which
involved our talented boys playing a match in front of the Sky Cameras which will be aired Monday at 7.30pm. Then
on the Sunday 13th Feb  we were back to league action and welcomed Alveston the League leaders to a wet, windy
and cold Ponderosa in a match that was first v second in the league and promised to be a quality game. The visitors
took the lead after some sloppy defending which was against the run of play but this seemed to stir the red and whites
into full throttle who were winning every battle in every department of the pitch. It was no surpise that the Mount Nod
teamed equalised then added another 3 goals before the interval. Alveston Never gave up the chase and this is why
they will do well in this league as they are a battling team. The half time talk consisted of the management telling the
boys just keep doing what your doing as we were proving to be to strong for them especially when we play like this.
In what were  horrible conditions the second half  got under way and the mighty red and whites added a fifth goal as
they played some outstanding football on a pitch that was turning into a mud bath.
The red and whites just closed up shop and saw out the game but before they completed ther mission Alveston added
another goal yet again down to some sloppy defending. The final whistle blew and the result meant Mount Nod go top of
the A league table through merit and set the standards that others have to aim for, As we defend our  league and cup
titles with some truley amazing performances. Everyone ups there game against us and rightly so as we are the team
they all want to beat as we have set the standard....We are now closing in on a remarkable achievement of results and
we aim to hit the big five "O" without defeat in the next few weeks.
Can we take anything for granted? Never not in this league where  strange results can happen and often do if you do
not turn up and perform your best on the day. Well all is good in the Mount Nod camp and I now look forward to seeing
who makes it onto the Sky Sports show on Monday.....
Final Score:
Mount Nod 5 - 2 Alveston

16th January 2011
Today was Semi Final time in the nursing cup at the Bedworth Oval against a determined and up for it Frank
Parkers team from the Nuneaton Sunday League. On a boggy and full size man,s pitch this was always going to
be a hard slog as the legs of 10 and 11 year olds are not meant to play on pitches this size!!! However it was game
on and in front of a decent sized and very vocal crowd. The game got underway and the red and whites started to
dominate the game and as the half wore on Mount Nod imposed themseves in every department. A goal did
eventually arrive courtesy of Jacob which put the red and whites 1 - 0 and that is how it stayed up until the half time
whistle blew.

The second half got under way with Mount Nod just bossing the game and it was not long before we were 2-0 up
and on our way to the nursing cup final. Before the final whistle could blow another goal was added to make the
scoreline 3 - 0 in a very one sided second half which included the red and whites goal keeper not having to
touch the ball once!!!! Today was a total solid squad performance with each player playing there part. As in all
previous games the team was shuffled around using squad rotation to neutralize the oppositions strengths which
again was mission completed, Malc and Johns secret spying missions on Frank Parkers games had really paid off.
At last now Malc and John can take off the fake glasses and flat caps and be themselves once again and stop being
Nosey Parkers!!
Well done to every player, coaches and parents and loyal fans!!! Another cup final to look forward to.
Lets hope it is as exciting as the last final we played in!!!! But not as nail biting.......
Final Score:
Frank Parkers 0 - 3 Mount Nod

21st November 2010
Today was quarter final day in the Nursing cup competition and we were drawn against fellow A league
members Southam. Our opponents arrived very early and started their pre match warm up which was a
clear indication that today they were up for it and a top quality game was forecast. The red and whites were
strong straight from the kick off and imposed themselves by winning most first and second balls, This
workrate paid off as the home team went in at half time 3 - 0 up. The Southam boys returned for the second
half and made a real go of it giving as good and they got and started to come back into the game and were
denied an early goal by the ever improving Brooklyn who did a fantastic double save. The Mount Nod team
did what they had to do and finish  this game off.  But before the referees final whistle blew a goal of top
quality was witnessed and appreciated by both sets of parents a stunning scissor kick volley from Luke
that finished the game off 4 - 0. Today the boys showed why they are currently the best around and that
other teams will always  arrive and turn up their game as they try to knock the red and whites off there perch.
All credit to Southam today they fought until the final whistle and made a real game of it. We now progress to
the semi finals against a Frank Parkers team from Nuneaton who will once again give us a real challenge.
Final Score:
Mount Nod  4 - 0 Southam

14thNovember 2010
Away today against Whitley Colts from the B league in what was a cold and overcast Sunday....there was
certainly no Sun (day) !!!! The boys played well at times but really took there foot off the pedal on to many
occasions which caused dome sloppy looking football. At the end of the day we went there to win and thats what
we achieved. To there credit Whitley turned up and tried to cause a cup upset in this second round cup
tie but they found the red and whites the current defending cup winners just too strong. We now look forward to
working hard this coming week at training in prep for next Sundays visit of Southam United in what promises to be
a qualiy Nursing Cup quarter final match. Watch this space!!!
Final Score:
Whitley Colts 2 - 8 Mount Nod

07thNovember  2010
A great  squad performance today in what was a truley solid performance against Chapellfield Colts, We scored
our first goal after 10 seconds and it was chaps who kicked off the match!!!! We added a further 8 before the
final whistle. The victory today was our fortieth game since we were last beaten a record which goes back to 16
April 2009 when we were playing as under 9's!! An amazing statistic considering we are now under 11,s .Well
done to all the boys and Girl (Lucy CCLFC) who have been part of this magical run.
Final Score:
Mount Nod 9 - 0 Chapelfield Colts

31stOctober  2010
The boys arrived back after the half term break full of energy and raring to go. The trip to Alveston was going
to be a tough test as Alveston prior to this match were top of the A league and wanting to stay there. The red and
whites started very strong and created lots of chances but none seemed to fall nicely for us, Was it going to be
one of thoses days?  It was against the run of play when Alveston took the lead although there striker took his
chance well. To there credit our boys never even look flustered going one down  no panic as the well diciplined
operation kicked in and set about there task of getting back into the game which they  duely did on the stroke
of half time. The second half was very similar to the first with the Mount Nod boys real tightening there grip on
the game and three more goals sealed a convincing 4 - 1 victory. The pitch today was very tight and didn,t really
suit what we do best but that did not deter the whole squad who stuck to their game plan. The lads just did what
they had to do and get the 3 points to put theselves on top of the A league but like i,ve said before it,s a marathon
not a sprint and our boys are showing the desire and form that marathon runners are made up off, not to mention
the top quality football players each and everyone of them are. The boys mid week training attitude is as good as
it gets, The match day performances are spot on, What more can a manager ask for from his squad of such
talented players? yes i know what i can ask.....Just Keep it going boys your an absolute delight and to work with
at this stage of your footballing careers.
Final Score:
Alveston 1 - 4 Mount Nod

17thOctober 2010
An 8 - 2 victory today against a well organised and spirited Eastlands team in the Nursing cup booked our team
into a quarter final tie against fellow A league team Southam who over came Coundon 2 - 1. The games are
coming in thick and fast and it is great to have a full squad of quality which allows us to rotate the starting line
up week in week out. Unbeaten in our first 5 games since taking the step up to eleven a side this has been a
perfect start to the new season as we continue to learn from game to game regarding the in's and out's of
eleven a side football. Our new signings have blended in perfectly and it would be fair to say no one is able to
tell who our new players are as they have gelled together so quickly. The squad spirit is stunning with each
player giving 110% for their fellow squad members, Keep it going, destiny is in your own hands or is it feet!!
See you all at training where the real hard work is done. Come on you Red and Whites.
Final Score:
Mount Nod 8 - 2 Eastlands

10thOctober 2010
A big well done to Connor for getting his first of what will be many goals in the colors of Mount Nod.
A stylish player who is going to be a massive asset to an already very strong squad.

 Goalscorer: Connor

One another thing i,d like to say how good the boys were for todays squad performance against a strong
Cov Sphinx side who were top of the A league prior to this match. The 6 - 0 scorline was the biggest ever

defeat this Sphinx team had ever been on the end off but they could not argue with the scoreline as it was
fully justified. Every Mount Nod player was voted man of the match and to be fair this was one of the most
dominating performances that this squad has ever done, Top notch from   every player a faultless display
in a well deserved victory to go joint top of the A league in defence of the title they won last year. We may
be top of the league today bit this will be short lived as next week we are playing in the nursing cup and teams
below  in the league have the chance to go above us only if they win!!! but we will still have games in hand only if they win!!! but we will have a few games in hand!!
We once again become the targets that everyone wants to and has to beat, so the boys must prepare to roll
up there sleeves like they did today as the games keep rolling in week after week be it league or cup ties.
Today you showed why you are the current League and Cup Champions.
Final Score:
Cov Sphinx 0 - 6 Mount Nod
