Apr 16th v Leamington Hibs
The U6 Whites team continues to improve with every game, and this latest step was a big one. On a very hot day all
the team again put in 110% and had a great time. The first ever goal for the team was scored by Aston, and this was
closely followed by the second also scored by Aston. There were clear signs of the team learning to keep some shape
on the pitch and this proved to help defensively. Some excellent tackles from everyone and good defensive positioning
work from Elijah, Adam, Drew and Sam meant that Leamington Hibs were reduced to only a few chances and only
one goal conceded. This was the longest game yet played by the team and the heat along with only having 2 subs was
showing to slow the game down. However everyone was having too much fun to stop and two more goals were scored
late on by Sam and Aston. It was big smiles all round as the team left the pitch with everyone asking when is the next
game? Can we play next week? Well done lads!
Apr 9th v Coventrians
This was the second game for the U6 Whites team and again it was thoroughly enjoyed by players, management
and supporters. All of the team put in an excellent performance and the progress made by the squad from their
first game in February was clearly visible. The first ever goal for the team was still proving hard to get, however we
went close on three occasions after good work from the team produced chances for Aston, Owen and Elijah. This
was another good effort from all of the team with the attitude to keep on trying no matter what.
Feb 12th v Stockton
At last, the first game for our Mount Nod Whites team and I can tell there was a little bit of excitement in the air....
OK a LOT OF EXCITEMENT in the air!!! Despite playing against a team which had played numerous games
previously and having a squad of 12 whilst we were playing 6-a-side (so lots of substitutions and late comers)
the team played superbly and importantly enjoyed every minute of the game against a strong Stockton team.
The game was thoroughly enjoyable, they never gave up or seemed to notice that they were playing in front of
a very large crowd for the first time I believe everyone will remember this game as both teams were a credit to
themselves, the management or the supporters. WELL DONE GUYS!!!!
